Connections Pastor Update

The Elders are pleased to unanimously recommend Mark DeNooy to the church family as Connections Pastor. The Elders recently interviewed Mark and have also spent time getting to know him, and his wife Nance. It is clear that Mark is uniquely qualified for this position as he has significant experience in each of the 3 key areas of Connections, Community Outreach and Biblical Counseling.

The Elders are excited for the church to meet the DeNooys and to affirm Mark’s appointment to this position. The DeNooys will be at our services on March 13 and will be available before/after services to connect with as many of you as they can. A church meeting to affirm Mark as Connections Pastor will be held in late March – details to come.

Mark DeNooy

Connections Pastor Candidate

Mark was born and raised in the Denver metro area and went to college in Iowa where he needed to meet God and his wife, Nance.  They were married in 1983 and have 3 adult children and 3 amazing grandchildren.

Even though Mark was raised in a household of faith and went to a Christian School in Denver, he didn’t turn away from his selfish life and turn towards Jesus until he was 19 years old.  That is when Jesus took over the throne in his heart!  Mark will be the first person to tell you that he is in progress, as a Christ-follower, and continues to grow daily in the knowledge of the Lord.  Mark has experienced, first-hand, the power of God’s word in changing his own life. He desires nothing more than for others to experience that same power as well as the abundant life that Jesus and His word gives.  One of Mark’s favorite “short dagger” verses is John 10:10, which says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I (Jesus) came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

Mark’s hobbies include almost anything that can be done outdoors: hiking, biking, backpacking, snowshoeing, camping, hunting, and fishing.
If spending time with the grandchildren is considered a hobby, he will add that to his list as well.

Mark’s personal mission statement = “Love God. Love others. Grow the Kingdom.”
