The King’s Children Family Theatre Ministry is producing Sherlock Holmes and the First Baker Street Irregular this spring. Written by Brian Guehring, and produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company, Inc., of Woodstock, Illinois, this delightful play will be sure to enchant and challenge the students!
What happens when a street urchin tries to pickpocket the world’s greatest detective? Why, a lesson in deduction, housework, and manners, of course. Wiggins is a 14-year-old street urchin being trained by Sherlock Holmes. While they learn to trust each other, can Wiggins and her gang help the detective solve two dangerous mysteries?
Rehearsals begin on January 22 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and continue each Thursday for 13 weeks (no rehearsal the last Thursday in March). The performances will be on April 24 and 25. There is a bonus TUESDAY rehearsal on April 21.
Registration is open now but closes soon. Families who sign up commit to 12 parent volunteer hours, including working backstage support for one performance. A contract outlining expectations will be signed at the first meeting. Register by December 30 to secure your spot and be able to prepare for your audition!
