The Gospel
At Southwest Community Church, we cling to the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
God created all things good and we were created to be in relationship with God, however, through our sin we rejected that relationship. Upon breaking our relationship with God, He promised that He would make a way for sin to be defeated so that we could be in relationship with Him again. This promise finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ.
Being God, Jesus humbled himself by becoming a man. Born to Mary, He lived a sinless life, spending His time in ministry preaching to prepare for the Kingdom of God by loving God and loving others sacrificially.
Jesus lived this sinless life so that He could offer Himself up as a perfect sacrifice upon the cross, using His own death as a means of forgiveness for humanity’s sins. Three days later He defeated death and rose again from the grave. Christ ascended into heaven and promised that He would come again in order to fully establish the Kingdom of God, right every wrong, and bring light to darkness.
Through believing in Christ and turning from our sin, we can be in relationship with God again and inherit eternal life. Then, we are sent on mission to love God, love others, and make disciples wherever we go.
