Journey of Prayer

Thank you for being willing to go on a Journey of Prayer with us. Our goal is to grow in prayer together as we seek our great God, for the month of February.

Biblical Encouragement
Verse for today: Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created. Revelation 4:11

God is worthy of all our honor and praise! He created all things and holds our lives together, with purpose. You can take heart knowing that the same Creator who formed the universe also gives meaning and value to your life each day. Listen to this song and give Him praise today!

Wise Words God commands and expects you to pray. In a mysterious way that you cannot fully comprehend, your prayers are enfolded into the great outworking of His purposes. So when your life ceases and everything appears to be against you, don’t assume that God’s purposes for you have been thwarted. Direct your gaze to Him and ask other to join you in prayer. It may be that their prayer are the sovereign means that God will use to bring about your deliverance – for in His kindness, God has ordained that the prayers of His people really do change things. – Alistair Begg

Prayers for the Church
Note: These are current and/or ongoing ways to pray for the church.

  • Pray for Scott Riley as He shares from God’s Word today. Pray for our youth and young adults who participate in leading our time of worship this morning. Pray that God would be glorified.
  • Think of someone at church that you know or have seen. Pray for them and then if you see them today, let them know you prayed for them.
  • Ask God to give you boldness today. If He allows you to cross paths with a visitor at church, pray that you’ll have the courage to greet them and extend the love of Christ.

Personal

  • As you start a new week, give the next 7 days to Him. Commit yourself, no matter what comes your way, to living this week in a way this is pleasing to God.
  • Continue to pray for that friend or family member that you identified last week, as someone you want to pray for during this month.
  • Revisit Philippians 2:3-4 and meditate on the humility that Jesus modeled for us. Pray that God will give you that kind of humility and that He will be glorified in all that you do.
